Process Post: Project #8 (2)
I started to add some contrasting color and detail now! I still plan on adding light lines in black ink. I decided to add a cat too because it was slightly empty in that corner. I also plan on adding things on desk, and adding detail with gouache. The blues and overall darks in the room will be darkened, similar to how I darkened the shadows on the figure. Current versus the original final sketch.


Process Post: Project #8
At the end of the year I become stressed and anxious, so my inspiration for this new piece is in the moment. I wanted to try working in gauche and watercolor again, and so I started off the piece with a light wash of blues and cool colors. I want an emphasis on shadows, so I lay out where deep darks are going to go. I will start painting more opaque and adding some contrasting colors, like reds, in certain areas. Process Post: Project #7 and Home Project #2
For my next home project, I wanted to incorporate larger characters into a city scene. I started with a graphite sketch and then started doing light line work with the two characters on the left. Once I felt they looked okay I started doing linework with black ink again for the city scape, working left to right. When I was done with using my brush, I went in with a brush pen for finer detail and a rougher edge. At the end, I made final touches at the bottom and to add some de
