After doing a watercolor wash, I start applying gouache for details and more defined color, starting on the main subject's body. I try to keep the colors warm to stick with the color scheme. I did not take a lot of process pictures unfortunately, but then I worked on the border around the subject, working with oranges and pinks and making sure to keep the planned dark areas deep in color. I cut my paper into the size I felt comfortable with, as I don't like working too big. I sketched my idea the best I can to the larger paper, making sure the composition looks okay. Now I start to paint! I start with a yellow-dominant wash with watercolor. I also put down some hints of purple in the more shaded areas of the painting that are in the foreground.

This summer I was stuck on what theme my art work should invoke, as I want to experiment with something serious like childhood memories and something more playful like random fears.
